“Timer Button” – This button allows you to set the pace of the voyage. The starting value carries out the voyage using 15 minute time steps.  You can increase or decrease this time step.  If for some reason the voyage is not progressing you should try the forward button which resets the value to 15 minutes. 

“Log File ” – This button allows you to view the ship’s log screen at anytime. Close this screen by clicking the close button.

“Yellow Up Button” – This button allows you to do a quick zoom out on the background map to see a larger scale view of the boat’s position. You may repeat this procedure. 

“Yellow Down  Button” – This button allows you to do a quick zoom in on the background map to see a smaller scale 
view of the boat’s position. You may repeat this procedure. 

“Wrench (Engine)”  - This button allows you to start the engine and set the throttle.  Fuel consumption is based on the  throttle setting.  Fuel is also consumed based on 1 hour per day of run time at idle to charge batteries. 

“Fuel Pump”  - This button allows you to refuel and rewater. Water is consumed at a rate of one gallon per day per crew member. 

“F9” - This button launches Force9 which enables charting and other navigation features.  A complete description of the use of Force9 with VP is found beginning on page 24.      

“Stop Button” – This stops and ends the simulation. You will be prompted as to whether you want to save the current voyage.
