Text Box: # Virtual Passage
Text Box: Quick Start

For a quick start use the year 1993 which has the first six months of data already in an unzipped format. Place the Virtual Passage Disk 1 in your CD reader.

You are now ready to run Virtual Passage. Select ( Click) the Virtual Passage selection from the Windows Start Menu under Program Files. If this is the first run of Virtual Passage on your computer, you will be asked to enter your Product ID Number or Order Number.. Enter without hyphens. This is found on your CD box. If you have lost this Product ID Number then contact Virtual Passages.

Regular Start

The weather data for years other than 1993 are on the CD in a compressed (zipped) format. This data must be unzipped and placed on your hard disk. Select the month (s) you want to simulate. Do this by opening and exploring the Virtual Passage CD, select the year, then double click on the desired month folders. For example open (double click) JanWMF-this will automatically unzip and install this file. Next, open (double click) the JanData , finally open (double click) the tropical tracks file. You must have a WMF file and Data File for each month you want to simulate and a Tropical Tracks file for that year unzipped on your Hard Disk in the year folder (see the 1993 folder on the CD for an example).
